This Cookie Policy explains how Hyperfokal LLC, doing business as Lína ("Lína," "we," "us," or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at discoverlina.com and use our production management platform at app.lina.tools (collectively, the "Service"). This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They serve various purposes, such as remembering your preferences, keeping you logged in, and helping us understand how our Service is used. "Local storage" is a similar browser technology that allows websites to store data on your device without an expiration date.
2. Cookies We Use
We use a minimal number of cookies and local storage items, each serving a specific, necessary purpose. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or any cookies that profile your behavior across other websites.
2.1 Essential Cookies (Lína Application)
These cookies are strictly necessary for the Lína application to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
lina_session
Purpose: Authenticates your identity and maintains your login session so you can securely access your projects and data.
Domain: .lina.tools
Type: HTTP cookie
Duration: 14 days (or until you log out)
Attributes: HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax
Set by: Lína API (api.lina.tools)
This cookie contains a cryptographically random session token. It is marked HttpOnly, meaning it cannot be accessed by JavaScript, and Secure, meaning it is only transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. The token is hashed before storage on our servers. No personal information is stored in the cookie itself.
2.2 Analytics Cookies (Marketing Website Only)
These cookies are used on discoverlina.com only — they are not present on the Lína application (app.lina.tools).
Google Analytics (GA4)
Purpose: Helps us understand how visitors find and use our marketing website, including which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and what referral sources bring traffic.
Cookies set: _ga, _ga_[ID] (and potentially others set by Google)
Domain: .discoverlina.com
Type: HTTP cookies
Duration: Up to 2 years
Set by: Google (via gtag.js)
Google Analytics collects anonymized data about website usage. We do not use Google Analytics to identify individual users, and we do not link analytics data to your Lína account. For more information about how Google uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
2.3 Local Storage (Marketing Website)
Local storage items are similar to cookies but are stored differently by your browser. We use one local storage item on discoverlina.com:
lina_beta_dismissed
Purpose: Remembers whether you have dismissed the open beta notice modal, so it is not shown again on subsequent visits.
Domain: discoverlina.com
Type: localStorage
Duration: Persistent (until you clear browser data)
Value: "1" if dismissed
This item stores no personal information — it is a simple flag indicating a UI preference.
3. Third-Party Services and Their Cookies
In addition to the cookies described above, the following third-party services may set cookies or collect data when you use the Service:
Google Fonts: Web fonts are loaded from Google's servers. This may result in your IP address being transmitted to Google, and Google may set cookies related to font delivery. See Google Fonts Privacy FAQ.
Cloudflare: As our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare may set cookies for security and performance purposes, such as bot detection and DDoS mitigation. These are essential operational cookies. See Cloudflare's Cookie Policy.
4. Cookies We Do Not Use
For clarity, we want to be explicit about the types of cookies and tracking technologies we do not use: third-party advertising or retargeting cookies, social media tracking pixels or widgets, cross-site tracking cookies, fingerprinting technologies, and any cookies or technologies that profile your behavior across other websites.
5. Managing Cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, clear local storage, and set preferences for specific websites. Please note that disabling essential cookies (such as the lina_session cookie) will prevent you from logging into and using the Lína application.
To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
Common browser cookie settings:
Google Chrome · Mozilla Firefox · Safari · Microsoft Edge
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. At this time, we do not alter our data collection or tracking practices in response to DNT signals, but we already limit our tracking to the minimal analytics described in this policy.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through our Privacy Policy notification procedures.
